In 2025, Takeda, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, unveiled its new office space in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (formerly known as Saigon). This is not only an office space, but also an innovative practice in office environment design, jointly created by the design team Nguyen Hai thien and Le Kieu Giang Tien, Unispace and AVT International. How does this project integrate the characteristics of the healthcare industry, regional cultural symbols, and modern office needs? Let's explore the truth.

Strong alliance of design team: collision of creativity and execution

Unispace is renowned for its innovative design, while AVT International excels at implementing concepts, and their collaboration has become the key to project success. Unispace is responsible for the creative conception of office environment design, while AVT International ensures that every detail - from cultural carving to office furniture selection - is accurately presented. This golden combination of "design+execution" has turned Takeda's vision from blueprint to reality.

Takeda was founded in 1781 and is headquartered in Japan. It is a globally leading biopharmaceutical company based on values and driven by research and development. Its new office in Saigon is not only a workplace, but also an artistic carrier that integrates local culture with the spirit of Takeda. The final presentation space provides employees and customers with a relaxed and enjoyable office environment, enriching their daily work experience.

Cultural Carving Pillars: Historical Narrative in Space

Entering the office, the most striking thing is undoubtedly the large structural columns. The design team did not hide it, but instead transformed it into the soul element of office environment design - each pillar is carved with Saigon's cultural landmarks: Turtle Lake, Notre Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace, City Library, Dragon Pier, and Art Museum. These symbolic elements not only beautify the space, but also establish a cultural connection between Takeda and the local community.

The pillars are no longer structural barriers, but storytellers, "said the design team. This approach not only respects the structure of the building itself, but also endows the space with profound cultural connotations. Employees can feel the 400 year history of this city when their gaze touches these carvings during work breaks.

Open Office Area: Balancing Flexibility and Collaboration

Open layout is the core of office environment design. Large area floor to ceiling glass windows bring in ample natural light, creating a beautiful contrast between the urban landscape outside and the indoor greenery. The selection of office furniture is particularly particular: a white curved office desk paired with a black mesh office chair, which not only conforms to ergonomics but also reflects the professionalism of the medical industry. The wooden cabinet and lockable drawer cabinet under the table meet the storage needs.

The office areas are separated by white curved shelves, and the white flower boxes hanging on the shelves are planted with green plants, ensuring transparency and adding vitality. This design echoes the healthcare industry's pursuit of "health" and "vitality", and also makes the office environment more approachable.

Conference Room: Integration of Technology and Nature

The design of the conference room is equally meticulous. The white long table is paired with black mesh office chairs, and the floor is covered with gray square splicing carpet with yellow lines embellishing it. The red vertical stripes on the left and right sides of the background wall not only echo the color of the Takeda brand, but also add visual layers. The purple plants on the right storage cabinet inject a natural atmosphere into the serious meeting space.

The embedded lights and rectangular fixtures on the ceiling ensure sufficient illumination, while projection screens and televisions meet the needs of modern meetings. This is not only a decision-making venue, but also a catalyst for team collaboration.

Front Desk Area: First Impression Art

The front desk is the window of corporate image, and the front desk design of Takeda Ho Chi Minh City office can be regarded as a model of office environment design. The white curved background wall is decorated with wavy patterns, and the red circular logo in the middle contrasts sharply with the black text (Takeda logo). The front desk continues the curved line and seamlessly integrates with the background wall.

The white curved display device on the left creates a color collision with the red sofa, while the green plants soften the spatial edges. The entire region not only embodies a sense of technology, but also conveys the rigor and warmth of the medical industry.

Biomimetic Design: Seamless Connection between Nature and Office

The design team introduces cutting-edge workplace concepts to create a hybrid office environment that is people-oriented and focuses on employee health and well-being. The open layout, ample lighting, bio friendly design, dynamic and diverse work environments, diversity that balances focus and collaboration, and the introduction of advanced technological facilities make this a highly adaptable and sustainable workspace.

Green plants are not only decorations, but also the core elements of office environment design. From vertical green walls to desktop potted plants, the introduction of plants aims to improve air quality and alleviate work pressure - which coincides with Takeda's corporate philosophy of "focusing on health". The choice of office furniture also echoes this theme, such as office chairs with breathable mesh and wooden table legs, which convey a natural and comfortable signal.

Regional Cultural Integration: From Symbols to Experiences

In addition to carving columns, the design team also incorporates regional culture into the details. For example, the lines of office furniture are inspired by the eaves of traditional Saigon architecture, while wall decorations draw inspiration from local fabric textures. This approach of "big symbols+small details" allows culture to permeate every corner of space, rather than staying on the surface.

Accurate selection of office furniture: unity of functionality and aesthetics

In terms of office furniture configuration, the design team has put in a lot of effort. Employee workstations are equipped with adjustable desks and mesh chairs with rollers to meet flexible office needs; The circular small table in the collaboration area facilitates impromptu discussions; The curved sofa in the leisure area creates a comfortable atmosphere for informal communication. Every piece of furniture serves the three core goals of collaboration, health, and efficiency.

Sustainable Concept: Office Space for the Future

Sustainability is an important consideration in the design of office environments. The space adopts energy-saving lighting fixtures, recyclable materials, and reduces lighting energy consumption through natural lighting. The selection of office furniture also prioritizes durability and recyclability, reflecting Takeda's commitment to environmental protection.

Conclusion: A New Benchmark for Office Environment Design

The Takeda Ho Chi Minh City office is not only a workplace, but also a textbook level example of office environment design. It proves that an excellent office environment can integrate culture, functionality, and brand spirit, and office furniture is the key carrier to achieve this integration. For the healthcare industry, such a design not only enhances employee happiness, but also conveys the company's respect for "health" and "life".

This project may inspire more enterprises: office space can be more than just "office", but can also become a platform for connecting culture, caring for employees, and showcasing values. And this is precisely the direction of future office environment design.
